the most exciting news
In blatent violation of my own rules, I had to post a short one-liner.
I got tickets to the Raptor’s playoff game, this coming Tuesday! AWESOME. They are the cheapest seats available, but we’re going!!!! Can’t wait.
Music of the week
I recently picked up the very effective skill of studying with music – other than the occasional distraction of dancing while attempting to study in the library (potentially disturbing?), it’s a great way of being able to ignore everyone around you and focus. This is especially helpful when trying to study in lab, which can only be described as chaotic. Research is a team effort, and the social aspect is part of what makes it so enjoyable, but recently I’ve had to get a lot of work done which can be difficult in such an environment. Anyways, to make a long story short, I just wanted to post some of the music I’ve been listening to recently during my studying-attempts. My obsession of the week? Shakira. Before you all cringe and click onto another page, believe me when I say that her spanish music is much much better than her english cross-over attempts. Give it a try.
Dia De Enero
This isn’t Shakira, but it’s another song that I heard non-stop in Panama that has been on the playlist for this week (by Juanes) Tengo La Camisa Negra
thereenablog takes a leave of absence
Upcoming deadlines demand a holiday from blogging for this writer. Sadly, there is no time left for even good ol’ online procrastination. To send you off, here are a couple things that are currently keeping me busy in my “free time” – first, a Discovery channel series on “Planet Earth”. This clip showcases a “bird of paradise” attempting to attract a mate (it’s awesome! this bird is so cool. How could any female bird resist such hopping and clicking).
Lastly, a blog that I have been reading non-stop (when I’m not reading for school, of course). Sarah on the run is the blog of a traveller who spent 11 months running around the globe. Definitely worth the read (and the pictures are amazing!).
That’s all for now, and potentially for a while… :)
